Delta Resol BS Plus Solar Controller V-Bus

Anyone used this from the solar controller?

I am assuming I need to get the RS232 adapter and thus connect straight to a brick from there - is my assumption correct?

    cheers,

    Ian.

Could you publish a link to the manual.  The WebBrick has a RS232 interface, but we'd need to know about speed parity and stop bits.

     Andy,

There are a few manuals, but I can't see anything really helpful in them, one of them has 9600 but no other details in it.

It looks like a powerful and overly complex datalogger is needed to gain access to the solar controller.  The BS Plus says that it can be configured remotely although the interface manual does not mention this.

What is interesting is that the source code for the interface is available for 20 euros and that the interface is available in an Ethernet option.

There's a free download of the software that we're going to take a look at.

Its a good thing that we have a native german engineer !

I was looking at the RS-COM - looks like a dum serial interface to the V-Bus.

There is free 'eclipse-based' software that uses it.

Re: Delta Resol BS Plus Solar Controller V-Bus

Did anyone manage to get anywhere with this?  I would be very interested.

I am in the process of installing a Solar system and just about to buy a controller.  A full system including east/west panels, heat store, heat exchangers, temperature compensating central heating and boiler backup is complex to automate, involving several pumps and tens of temperature probes and valves.  Temperature differential controllers like the Resol Deltasol M, Sorel TDC5e and others do a job of this and have ethernet and serial connectors.  I just can't find one that I could link to a Webbrick or other device for monitoring and control, and I would hate to put in a completely unconnected system into my otherwise fully automated home.

I have sent a request for information to Resol and their UK distributor

    Scott,

As long as you get a Resol BS Plus, it has a RS485 interface. The protocol is readily available.

There is lots of good stuff here:
