    Remote Access To HGA

    Hi all

Need help getting remote access to my HGA, Simple You Say, But I am currently only able to access broadband via a vodafone 3g express card router. I am reciving speeds of about 1-2meg which is acceptable the only problem is that I'm behind a NAT which will not allow me to remotely access the property. I have spoke to vodafone and there is absolutly no chance of them allowing direct remote acces. so basicly on the status screen of my router my wan IP shows as a 10 dot address and when visiting a site like mywanip.com i find an address of about 200 dot. there used to be a peice of software called loopole that got round these isues and has sinse seist to exist, and | cant find it anywhere. So basicly I'm looking for sombody to give me a way of accessing the HGA through all this mess. Oh and By the way at present dydns wont work for the same reason I supose and asking vodafone for a static ip is like trying to make pigs fly (impossible).

Some of you may say just get BT Broadband, as others already know this is not an option at present or even getting a wifi link to another property

Hope this has sent youre minds boggeling

Re: Remote Access To WebBrick Gateway (Once codenamed "HGA")

    Alex, I understand your predicament!

There are definitely solutions to your wireless broadband and its lack-of Public IPs problem, but they're also definitely outside the scope of what we attempt to do with today's WebBrick Gateway.

People may try to solve such problems by having your "home" network tunnel out to a public IP address space, and then accessing your home back through that public IP. This would normally require a tunnelling-capable router (as used in VPNs) and a hosted router in some rackspace. The expertise required and ISP hosting costs soon add up!

But let's talk about this separately in email. If yours is a common problem, and we can create a good solution and share out the costs, then maybe this could be a future service from WebBrick Systems? If it's only really something that you would want, we can still help make it happen, it's just going to cost you the full amount!
