    Temperature Sensors - installation

This is just to emphasize the requirements when installing temperature sensors.

The webbrick controller can have up to 5 sensors connected, but these cannot be star wired as the reflections from the end of multiple long pieces of code cause communication errors. The wiring is BUS wired, with short (less than 2m drop cables from each sensor). We have tested with 90m cable length. When using multiple sensors on one webbrick it is suggested that they are used for a specific purpose in a single locality. i.e. 4 sensors monitoring a boiler, two sensors reading temperature for two rooms next to each other.

Here's a diagram to help make things clearer:

    Hi all

Just a note/question, upon instaling the 1 wire bus as above we have noticed the brick will only see 3 sensors in this config. I was wondering as stated that the sensors must have 1m of wire on them would it also make a big difference if the sensors had 50m of wire on them (resistance). I am sure Phil James will elaberate on these problems.

    Thank you,

    Alex
